As part of a project, I'm creating a lockdown journal to document my experiences during the current situation. Writing about literally anything that comes to my mind is a fun way to occupy time, and even help me improve as a writer. You don't have to write a novel a day. Even a few sentences jotted down can serve as a memory to look back on after lockdown. I might not post everything I write, but just the bits I liked the most. I'm encouraging you to join this challenge, too! Here's entry 1: Unseen change. Hope you like it!
When change comes, the people that do the best are the ones that can quickly adapt, whether it is because of their resources or their mindset. We all know how COVID impacted our day-to-day lives, in many ways we can't even imagine. Other than the obvious "I can't leave the house" or "I need to social distance in public", there are many creative ways this impacted us. For one, students around the world can no longer use the excuse "I left my homework at home". Also, we'll all emerge from lockdown sporting a wide variety of overgrown bush hair, unintentionally choppy pixie cuts or my personal favorite, the "I just got out of bed" punk hair. Ah, the beauty of lockdown home hairdressing. Instead of thinking of all the serious economic and social consequences of the lockdown, sometimes we should look at the bright side. Or, the wacky creative side. By taking a new view, we can shift our perspective and see things from a new light, and think of this lockdown as a learning experience. Or at the very least, justify your trendy new porcupine-esque hairdo.
