Twice- World In A Day Concert!

Happy National Day y'all! Also, Twice just had their first BeyondLive World in a Day concert!

I was looking forward to it, and it did not disappoint! In 2019, Twice explored the world and performed for Onces all over the world on their Twicelights tour, and because of the current circumstances, that would not have been possible this year. Instead, they had their first ever BeyondLive concert, called World in a Day! The idea was to visit cities from all over the world during their concert, with each song being represented by one or two cities. Even though we were watching it on our TV, the lighting, camera effects and atmosphere were similar to an actual concert, with the notable effects being the fact that the members were duplicated during Yes or Yes, and that during Cheer Up the word were flying off the screen, almost like it was 3D! From the minute they stepped out of the pink Twice car until they wrapped up the surprise live, I was captivated! It was a truly unforgettable experience, well worth 1500 Vlive coins, or roughly S$27.

Songs performed

  • Stuck in my Head

  • Touchdown

  • Fancy, with a dance break! (with 55-year old Singapore as a backdrop! Squeee!)

  • Heart Shaker

  • Love Foolish

  • TT

  • What is Love

  • Yes or Yes

  • Shadow

  • Firework

  • Feel Special

  • More & More

  • 21:29 (lyric-video style, with the member's handwriting!)

  • Turn It Up

  • Cheer Up

(and a surprise Live at the end!)

I really enjoyed the performance, and every song was equally interesting! Starting with the members getting out of a pink car, the music quickly changed to Stuck In My Head, the energetic bop from the Fancy You album! Unfortunately, due to a neck injury, Jeongyeon could not dance along, and had to sing from the side.

After a brilliant performance, it switched to the fast-paced and lively Touchdown, which was actually choreographed by the one and only Kim Dahyun!

During Fancy, they changed things up a bit with a powerful dance break, showing off Twice's impressive dance skills and stage presence!

In quick succession came Heart Shaker, Love Foolish and the iconic TT, followed by What is Love, Yes or Yes (with extremely cool effects duplicating all of the members! My family thought Twice had 18 members...

During Shadow the lighting was dimmed, with many different spotlights moving around and turning on at different times, creating many cool shadow effects on the ground.

Then it was Firework, the bubbly Latin-American inspired song was performed, helping to hype up the Onces!

Next, it was Feel Special and More & More, Twice's most recent releases! There was a twist, which was they were performed in the Fancy style, making it even catchier!

During 21:29, the Twice members communicated through the lyrics to Onces, as well as

writing the lyrics underneath in their own handwriting!

Lastly, there was a performance of Turn It Up, and then their classic bop, Cheer Up!

There were also a few times they stopped and talked with Once, and three lucky Onces even got to ask questions! Even after they finished up the show with Cheer Up, the fun was not over yet! There was also a surprise Live at the end, which wasn't put on VOD, and could only be watched by the live viewers! During the surprise Live, they wore cool pastel tie-dye shirts with a daisy pattern on the back, designed by Chaeyoung! They also hinted at exciting new projects coming soon, such as More & More English Version (yes!! an English version!). My non K-pop fan parents were equally enthralled by the concert, with my mom making comments about Nayeon's confidence and Twice's stage presence! Looks like we found two new Onces 😉.

I'm so glad I got to watch this incredible performance and who knows, maybe online concerts are the way to go!

Signing off,

Nikki
